One day in Carolina, a ginger kitty turned up on a woman’s front porch, she was crying for food.
She appeared to be very shy but she was obviously very hungry.
The kind woman put some food out and the ginger tabby quickly finished the bowl and swiftly ran away.
The next day the same cat reappeared on the porch but this time she wasn’t alone.Beside her was a little ginger kitten, almost identical.
He was also very hungry and following his mother’s lead.
The following night the mother cat returned, but this time she had two kittens in tow.
The little ginger that was with her the day before, and a very cute tortoiseshell.
The woman realised that the mother cat was asking for help so she contacted Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue and they set about to trap this family and get them to safety.”The young mom is a stray and her poor tail is broken and degloved at the end, so we knew she needed to get seen by the vet immediately,” she explained.
Once at the shelter the kittens were checked over, they weighed less than they should but they were both in good health.
They have a lot of growing and filling out to do.
They named the mother Mildred, and the kittens, a girl and a boy, were named Charlotte…
All three of them realised that life with their caring foster family is much better than living on the streets.
And it didn’t take long for this delightful family of three to find their forever homes.
Charlotte and Hank were adopted together and are now enjoying their new lives – a far cry from life on the streets.
After being spayed vetted, mama Mildred was adopted by one of the friends of the shelter, she has been renamed Sunshine – to reflect her bright, new, litter-less future!
This caring mother cat knew exactly where to take her kittens to give them a chance at a better life.
