A senior feline who was abandoned and left to freeze was discovered by rescuers. They were able to save him just in time, and he showed his gratitude by purring non-stop. Introducing Fargo, the grateful cat!
The Little Feline Brigade
One night in the beginning of January, The Little Feline Brigade, a rescue organization in Charleston, West Virginia, was contacted by Eva from B.A.R.C. Boone Animal Rescue Coalition regarding a ginger cat that had been discovered in a state of near-freezing.
Without hesitation, they made a firm decision to do everything they could to rescue the cat.
“Eva only reaches out to me for the cats that are in urgent need of help, so I knew right away that this little kitty needed immediate assistance,” shared Dorella Tuckwiller, the creator of IBKC with Love Meow.
A caring woman named Nikki took the ginger cat to the vet’s office. Upon arrival, he was wrapped in a cozy blanket and showered with affection.
Despite his weakened state, the sweet cat began to purr at the slightest touch. His eyes struggled to stay open, but he continued to purr and crave more affection.

When I saw him, I could tell he was quite elderly. The stench emanating from him was unpleasant, and his emaciated appearance was heart-wrenching. After being quickly tested for multiple diseases, including FIV, I anxiously waited for the results.
Despite his poor state, the test results came back negative for FIV, much to everyone’s relief. Tuckwiller and her dedicated team were committed to assisting this unfortunate feline in regaining his health and happiness.

After a long time, Fargo finally felt secure enough to drift off to sleep.
“He’s been alone for so long and he’s quite old, he wouldn’t have made it much longer…”
Just 24 hours after being rescued, his eyes were wide open. He was devouring his food and drinks enthusiastically! Every time he was petted, he emitted thunderous purrs and chirps. [Check out the video below]

Fargo is believed to have survived on the streets for the majority of his existence, looking out for himself. While his exact age remains unknown, his appearance indicates his advanced years. The senior ginger feline is now looking forward to a life of leisure in his golden years.
Although Fargo’s history is shrouded in mystery, one thing is certain – he will be treated like royalty for the rest of his days.
Emiley Schoolcraft has shared an update on Fargo, who is enjoying life with his foster family. While they will not be adopting him permanently, they are committed to providing him with hospice care until the very end. Despite his old age, Fargo is doing well medically. With only one tooth, he happily indulges in a diet of wet food that he adores.
Emiley Schoolcraft, who is currently caring for Fargo, describes him as incredibly sweet with a unique purr that she has never heard before. Despite his age, he still has a feisty side where he playfully nibbles on your hand with his single tooth. Schoolcraft expresses how uncertain they are about Fargo’s remaining time on earth, but one thing they are sure of is the love they share for him and the love he reciprocates.
Having survived numerous challenges, Fargo has used up most of his nine lives but continues to fight on. If he could speak, he would have countless life stories to share. Despite his tough exterior, Fargo is a little guy with a big heart full of love and emits loud purrs that bring joy to those around him. Now, this sweet old boy has finally found the loving home he always desired.
