“He’s such a cheerful fella” 😍
At the sight of Pinocchio’s photo, Jacqueline Santiago sensed a unique quality about him. This skinny kitten with big blue eyes and a charming snaggletooth caught her attention. However, it wasn’t until their first meeting that she truly understood just how special he was.
When Pinocchio, a dog with a unique cranial abnormality, arrived at Friends for Life Rescue Network, Santiago could finally see the challenges his face presented. This sweet pup could only eat soft food due to his misaligned jaw, and he also needed surgery for a large umbilical hernia. Fortunately, the rescue was well-equipped to handle special needs cases, thanks to having a vet on-site to provide the necessary care.
The moment Santiago laid eyes on the 4-month-old kitten, he couldn’t help but notice how effortlessly friendly and sweet the little feline was. The kitten displayed no signs of being different or shy – it was as if nothing could dim its cheerful and affectionate nature. Santiago was immediately charmed by the kitten’s instant purring and warm reception.
Pinocchio easily makes friends with both people and animals, showing his outgoing and confident nature. Santiago described him as a sociable and friendly cat who eagerly interacts with anyone he meets. He doesn’t hesitate to approach newcomers, jumping onto their shoulders to perch and show affection by rubbing against them. Playful and full of energy, Pinocchio is a joyous and loving feline who enjoys the company of both humans and other animals.
Friends for Life Rescue Network shared that during Pinocchio’s stay in a foster home, he encountered some medical problems that required surgeries to repair his umbilical hernia and correct his sternum placement. The caring medical team quickly grew fond of him and even fashioned him a superhero wrap to shield his stitches. When he came in for his next examination, they even added a cute little red cape to complete his superhero transformation.
The Friends for Life Rescue Network reported that Pinocchio the dog is making good progress in his healing process. However, they mentioned that he may not be ready for adoption until he is older due to his ongoing medical issues. “While we are currently treating him, we are not accepting any adoption applications or inquiries as we are still learning about his future needs,” explained Santiago. “We understand his present needs, but as he continues to grow and develop, his requirements may also evolve.”
When Pinocchio is ready for adoption, he’ll be looking for a unique and loving family who will accept him with open arms. Despite his quirky crooked face that gives him a charmingly uneven grin, Pinocchio will never stop beaming.
